2009 TOUR DESCRIPTIONS
Earlier this year, we sent a survey to those Members who have an email address to see what tours would be popular. The following are the tours that most felt they would sign up for.
All tours will leave at 1PM to give you plenty of time to get lunch and should be back to the resort in 4 hours or about 5-530 PM with plenty of time to get ready for the evening events.
The costs are approximate and depends on the final tally of participants.

THURSDAY TOUR: Florida Aquarium
What lurks in the bottom of the oceans? Come, relax and enjoy the aquarium while learning about the creatures from the deep! Whether you are drawn in by the Coral Reef, or the Shark Bay, or any of the dozens of other exhibits you will find yourself feeling you have become part of the undersea world. Over 4300 specimens are on display including over 550 species native to Florida. You will see Stingrays and penguins, along with sharks and an extensive assortment of Floridian fish and crustaceans.
Your day will also include a 90 minute boat tour out into Tampa Bay, where you will get a chance to meet dolphins, manatees and other sea creatures out in their natural habitat.

FRIDAY TOUR: Winery Tour & Tasting
Starting in 1991, the local winemaking family, the Shooks, began experimenting with fruits other than grapes for making wines. After years of dedicated work and perfecting the recipes used for making these exceptional wines, they opened the doors to the public in 1997. The Florida Orange Groves and Winery is the only winery in the world that produces ultra-premium citrus and berry wines. The winery is also the only establishment allowed to display the Florida Department of Citrus’ official mark of superior quality, the Florida Sunshine Tree.
Today your guests will experience guided a tour of the winery and will also have to opportunity to try and purchase these unique and ground-breaking wines such as Cocoa Beach made from oranges, Pineapple Sunset from pineapples and berries or White Gold from white peaches. Their time at the winery will include a generous sampling of the local product, as well as cheeses and accompaniments that compliment the unique flavors. Guests will view a short video introducing them to the winery, followed by walk through of the plant and will finish up in the gift shop where they will have the opportunity to purchase what their favorites.

SATURDAY TOUR: St. Petersburg Museum Tour
This afternoon your guests will experience guided tours of St. Petersburg most treasured artistic and cultural attractions
The Salvador Dali Museum is the permanent home of the most comprehensive collection of this great Spanish artist’s work. Dedicated solely to Dali, the museum’s mission is to protect and preserve this unique collection, making it available for the enjoyment and education of all people. The renowned collection contains 95 original oil paintings, over 100 watercolors and drawings, nearly 1,300 graphics, sculptures, objects d'art, photographs and an extensive archival library. The scope of the collection, spanning the years 1914 to 1980 presents a panorama of Dali’s diverse and evolving art. The museum exhibits a permanent retrospective of oil paintings, which is comprised of Dali’s early works reflecting Impressionist and Cuban styles, his transition to Surrealism which he is best known for, and his later classic works showing his preoccupation with religion and science.
The Museum of Fine Arts has the only comprehensive art collection, extending from antiquity to the present, on the Florida west coast. See outstanding works of art from artists such as Edouard Manet, Ansel Adams, and Camille Pissarro in galleries designed for leisurely reflection. Gaze outside over the bay and take in all around you. This museum is one you will remember.
