Thursday Brewery & Winery Tour (Includes Transportation): $140/per person
This excursion visits 1 Brewery and 1 Winery in North County San Diego. Guests will receive a private tour and tasting at Orfila Vineyards and Winery, and a tasting and private tour at Cellar 3. An excursion host will be present for the entire duration of the trip.  During the winery portion, 5 Vintner wines will be tasted with guests receiving a souvenir tasting glass.  Orfila is San Diego’s most esteemed production winery nestled by the hills of Escondido.  During the brewery portion, a flight of 4 beers from Cellar 3, Green Flash Brewing Co and Alpine Brewing will be offered.  Transportation will be provided via motor coach.

Friday San Diego Safari Park Tour (Transportation not Inlcuded): $93/per person

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park (formerly known as Wild Animal Park) is world-renowned and has been a favorite tour of the Academy because of the special association between the veterinarians in the Park and recently deceased Academy member, Ted Stanley. Prior to his untimely death, Ted helped us to arrange 1 1/2 hour tours of the animal hospital. Two specific times have been reserved for up to 25 people (each tour) to have a guided tour of the hospital. We are working on having one of Ted's colleagues on the staff join us. Academy members will also be provided with a one day pass to the Park that will allow entry to the Park at any time Friday and be good until closing at 5pm. You can select the tour time in San Diego, but advance registrations are required. For all those that pre-reigster, park passes will be available as the Academy's Registration Area on Wednesday and Thursday. The Park is quite close to Rancho Bernardo Inn and we encourage carpooling among members for transportation. Directions to the Park will be provided for those who do not have GPS.

Members wishing to visit the Safari Park without the hospital tour (or if tour is sold out) should buy tickets directly from the park ($52.00/per person).

Saturday Leatherneck Aviation Museum Tour (Transportation not included): Free

The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum is approx 15 minutes from the resort located at Building T, 4203 Anderson Avenue, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, California.  The museum contains exhibits and artifacts relating to the history and legacy of United States Marine Corps Aviation, including the Indian Code Talkers of WWII. The outdoor exhibits include approximately 30 vintage aircraft, multiple military vehicles and equipment as well as a vast range of historical items inside the museum building.  Docents will be available to provide our group with guided tours or individuals may visit on their own and return to the hotel at their leisure.  There is no charge for the museum or tours but donations will be gladly accepted.  As with the Safari Park tour, the Miramar Marine Air Station is quite close to the Rancho Bernardo Inn and we encourage carpooling to save on costs. Docent tours start at 1:00 pm; the museum closes at 3:30 pm.
